HANDGEMACHT - major event for design, crafts, art and culinary delights on Whit Sunday, 28 May and Whit Monday 29 May 2023, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. each day

The Whitsun weekend is a must for fans of the design and handmade scene. For the sixth time, over 30 artists and craftspeople will be exhibiting their own creations on the large museum grounds of the Porzellanikon - State Museum of Porcelain in Selb. The regionally made products are crafted from metal, wood, fabric and many other materials and look forward to their new owners. Decoration fans get their money's worth and can purchase the beautiful creations made from dried flowers, gemstones or 3D printers for their homes and gardens.

The food trucks provide refreshments after or before shopping. From fancy burger creations to potato variations and black activated carbon ice cream, there is something for every taste. Fans of vegetarian and vegan cuisine should also be more than satisfied, and those who feel like it can treat themselves to a refreshing mango lassi or cocktail. Of course, the right atmosphere is also provided. Since HANDGEMACHT is taking place as part of the Bavarian-Czech Friendship Weeks 2023, Czech bands such as "The Dixie Hot Licks" from Pilsen will provide the musical entertainment. Children can have their face painted or henna painted and romp around on the bouncy castle.

There will also be plenty on offer in front of and inside the museum. The children can build their own little boats and sail them on water. In keeping with "Toilet & Co. - sanitary ceramics from the outhouse to the high-tech toilet", soap will be poured in various scents and colours. The special exhibition is open and invites visitors to build their own dream toilet from building blocks. Fans of porcelain making will learn all about turning, casting and the mass mill at the demonstration stations and can attend the guided tour "Porcelain Factory on Public Holiday" at 2 pm on both Whitsun holidays. Porzellanikon looks forward to welcoming its guests! Admission 2 euros.
