Seniors create "Fantastic Beasts"!
On Wednesday, 19 January 2022, there will be an afternoon for senior citizens at Porzellanikon - Staatliches Museum für Porzellan, Hohenberg a.d. Eger, from 14:00 to 16:00. The focus is on porcelain animal figures, which were already very popular with porcelain lovers in the 18th century. Curator Thomas Miltschus will take the participants on a search for clues under the motto "Fantastic Beasts" to trace the development of animal figures over time, whose design has changed again and again since the 18th century. Afterwards, the participants can give free rein to their imagination and creativity in a joint workshop and model their own animal figure. Whether a real animal or a mythical creature - everyone can decide for themselves. Afterwards, visitors can get together over coffee and cake to exchange ideas and ask the curator questions. The next dates are 16 February and 16 March 2022.
The senior programmes deal with changing topics and last about 2 hours. The price is €9.50 plus museum admission per person and includes guided tour, creative programme and coffee and cake. Registrations are required at besuchercenter(at)porzellanikon.org or tel. +49 9287-918000. The 2G-Plus rule applies; Corona quick tests are available at the museum box office for a fee of €4.50.
