CULTURAL COFFEE IN THE PORZELLANIKON
Bric-a-brac or art in porcelain? Very often porcelain figures are dismissed somewhat disdainfully as kitschy - sometimes rightly so. But there is a great deal of artistic power in most figures - be they people, animals or a combination of both. Moreover, the figures tell about their time, are mirrors of everyday culture and art history. Those interested have the opportunity to take part in a curator's tour on Wednesday, 3 November 2021, at 2:00 pm, at Porzellanikon - State Museum of Porcelain, Hohenberg a.d. Eger. Together with curator Thomas Miltschus, visitors can explore the special features and appeal of selected porcelain figures and their backgrounds during a guided tour of the permanent exhibition. At the coffee and tea table that follows, there will be an opportunity to talk to each other and the curator in a relaxed atmosphere.
