3D printing workshops at the Porzellanikon


3D printing has become synonymous with high-tech in recent years. Not only plastics and metals, but also ceramics from the 3D printer have found their way into many areas with extreme requirements. The special exhibition "ART MEETS TECHNOLOGY. Ceramics from the 3D Printer" at the Porzellanikon - State Museum of Porcelain in Selb, which can be seen until October 3, 2021.

Anyone who wants to know how a porcelain object is created in the 3D printer will find out all there is to know about it on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in the 90-minute workshop "Design in the Fast Lane" and can also get creative themselves. Christoph Uhlig, the museum's technology facilitator, explains: "Participants turn their idea for an object into a design on the computer and experience how a porcelain object is created from porcelain mass in the 3D printer. There is something almost magical about that." So 90 exciting minutes await the participants. The next 3D printing workshop will take place on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 3:00 p.m.

The workshop is suitable for children aged 12 and over. Participants pay € 9.00 per person for the workshop in addition to museum admission. Children and young people up to 18 years pay only for the workshop. Prior registration is necessary as the number of places is limited.
