GIANT CUP FOR THE PORZELLANIKON
In March 2018, the successful image campaign of the district of Wunsiedel "Freespace for Doers" (Freiraum für Macher) was launched. One part of the campaign was an oversized teacup with which the district had promoted the Fichtelgebirge as a German porcelain region. It was launched in Munich and since then the cup has toured the pedestrian zones of large German cities. But now the widely travelled giant cup has found its final home: On 01.09.2020, at 15:30 in the afternoon, it was presented to Porzellanikon - State Museum for Porcelain, Selb and Hohenberg an der Eger, by the district of Wunsiedel. District Administrator Peter Berek and the head of the Fichtelgebirge Development Agency, Thomas Edelmann, did not miss the opportunity to be personally present on this special day and officially handed over the cup to the museum's director, Anna Dziwetzki. "There could not be a more worthy place for our #freiraumfürmacher cup than in front of the Porzellanikon," said District Administrator Peter Berek. The impressive object is now located in the middle of the driveway to Porzellanikon in Selb and serves as an attractive photo motif - climbing inside is expressly permitted!
